Stories from the Ground
Real impact in real communities
Kisumu County
In Kisumu, we partnered with local youth groups and schools to launch our flagship program. Within six months, we had over 500 active learners, with many reporting increased confidence in using technology and exploring remote work opportunities.
Nakuru County
Nakuru became our second major expansion area, with strong support from community leaders and educators. The program has been particularly successful with young women, who make up 45% of our learners in the region.
Bungoma County
Our pilot in Bungoma has shown promising early results. Despite being in a more remote area, learner engagement has been high, with many participants completing multiple learning modules and sharing knowledge with their communities.
Our Expansion Journey
From pilot to scale—our growth trajectory
Launch Year
Started with pilot programs in Kisumu and Nakuru counties. Established partnerships with local schools and community organizations. Reached our first 500 learners.
Expansion Phase
Expanded to Bungoma County. Launched community tech hubs model. Reached 1,000+ learners across three counties. Developed partnerships with telcos and corporates.
Scaling Up
Target: Expand to 10+ counties across Kenya. Launch regional partnerships. Develop advanced curriculum modules. Reach 10,000+ active learners.
Regional Expansion
Vision: Expand to Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda. Adapt platform for different languages and contexts. Build pan-African network of tech-literate rural communities.
Our Vision: Kenya → East Africa → Africa
We're starting in Kenya, but our vision extends far beyond. The USSD learning model is replicable across East Africa and the entire continent. With telco partnerships and localized content, we can scale this model to reach millions of rural learners across Africa.
